If “you are what you drink”, women would stereotypically be a sweet, fruity cocktail, while men would hold their stature as the darkest brew on tap. A new survey, however, is putting an end to these antiquated gender norms associated with bar culture.

Stoli Vodka polled 1,475 of millennial men, and found that 74% of them would like to drink flavored cocktails, but 63% of them are too afraid to order one out of fear of others’ judgement and scrutiny.

More interesting, however, is that 41% of millennial men said they felt their drink of choice was a reflection of their masculinity. Think about it: When you’re posted up at the bar, doing your best “people-watching” work, why is it that we second guess a macho man sipping on a fruity cocktail, but a girl throwing back a Guinness is the “cool girl” who can hang with the boys?

The campaign, titled #DrinkWhatYouWant, hopes to create a movement where men “challenge the status quo” and find the confidence to order a neon pink, sugary drink if he so pleases.
