How does one quickly make the transition from R&B singer to acclaimed chef? Well, ask Kelis.
The 36-year-old star just announced she’ll be opening a burger pop-up in London – a collaboration with popular restaurant Le Bun. The pop-up will be running at Leicester House on July 6, 7, 13 and 14 or at the Standon Calling music festival at the end of July, according to Eater.
Kelis will take tips from the restaurant’s already famed burgers, and incorporate her own Latina twist: the part-Puerto Rican chef will create burgers with arepas, in place of the ordinary burger bun we’re so used to seeing.

“The Le Bun guys are the perfect partners and I can’t wait for everyone to have a taste,” she said, on the restaurants owners, Andy Taylor and Tim Talbot. Taylor responded, “I love what she cooks and it’s going to be great to collaborate on a totally unique pop up.”
Last year, the singer released her first cookbook, My Life on a Plate: Recipes from Around the World, featuring her favorite recipes influenced from her Puerto Rican heritage and her travels around the world.
