Trying to dine at only the best restaurants in the world this summer? Look no further than the World’s 50 Best Restaurants list.
The final 50 was decided last night at a ceremony in New York, where chefs and other food folk gathered to hear which restaurants kept their ranking, and which fell off the radar.
To start, Massimo Bottura took the No. 1 spot for Osteria Francescana in Modena. Aside from the Italian powerhouse, some noteworthy Latino chefs also made the top five spots, including Joan Roca’s El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain and Virgilio Martinez and Pia Leon’s Central in Lima, Peru.
Thirteen other Latin restaurants and chefs stole spots throughout the rest of the 50’s Best list, including Enrique Olvera’s Pujol in Mexico City and Ignacio Mattos’ Estela in New York City. Unfortunately, only three restaurants run or co-run by female chefs made the list.
