What’s sexier than a man who feeds you a juicy steak and is also not afraid to show off his impressive butcher movies in front of the camera? The New York Post has announced that Chef Salt Bae is finally bringing his famous costillas and signature steak-salting moves to New York. (If you haven’t yet seen his work, you might want to check out his impressive, drool-worthy Instagram feed.) The Internet sensation, who started at age fourteen as an apprentice butcher, already has seven successful steakhouses and multiple burger restaurants in Turkey and Dubai. His brand has also announced an upcoming opening in London.
The Turkish Chef, formerly known as Chef Nusret Gokce, has rapidly gained popularity with Instagram videos, which quickly turned into a legendary meme of his meat-salting technique. He’s now known as “Salt Bae” and is collecting fans all over the world not only for his talents as a chef but also his sensual qualities on camera.
The restaurant is set to open in September, though the location is still uncertain. It has been speculations about the space currently occupied by China Grill in Midtown Manhattan but nothing official has been determined yet. He caught the attention of Dogus group, owned by Turkish billionaire Ferit Sahenk who partnered with New York real state moguls Alex Sapir and Rotem Rosen for the exciting opening.
The expectation grows as his videos and moves expand to celebrities such as Rihanna and sports players like Roger Federer, who imitate his meme and wear his signature salting emoji. He is also gaining popularity with the ladies with his black tight pantalones and wearing sunglasses while he suggestively cuts his best meats. This restaurant is expected to follow his other steakhouse patterns, with a butcher shop upfront and a dining room with an open kitchen.
And even though the hunk Chef does not speak English, we are sure his sazon will translate just as well in New York City.
