    Tamale Pie

    Comfort food at its best -- tamale pie!


    Ingredients
    2 1/2
    canned tomatillo sauce (usually sold as salsa verde)
    1 1/4
    cups
    Sour Cream
    1
    can
    creamed corn
    1
    cup
    corn kernels (fresh or canned)
    24
    prepared tamales (pork, chicken, or bean)

    cups
    shredded queso chihuahua or monterey jack cheese
    sliced roasted poblano chiles
    Directions
    Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
    In a bowl, combine the tomatillo sauce, sour cream, creamed corn and corn kernels. Mix all ingredients together well.
    Arrange half of the tamales on bottom of baking dish and pour sauce mixture over them. Top with remaining tamales and scatter cheese on top. Cover with foil and bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Garnish the pie with sliced roasted poblano chiles.
