    Spicy Salami Pizza Pie

    Created exclusively for the BLACK+DECKER 5 Minute Pizza Oven & Snack Maker by Top Chef alum and celebrity chef Spike Mendelsohn, this Spicy Salami Pizza Pie incorporates Latin flavors like chili flakes, citrus and spicy meat. 


    Ingredients

    14.5 ounce cans peeled roma tomatoes
    1
    tablespoon
    chili flakes
    *
    extra virgin olive oil
    *
    salt and pepper to taste
    1
    bunch cilantro
    1
    bunch parsley
    *
    zest of 1 lemon
    *
    zest of 1 lime
    *
    zest of 1 orange
    1
    pound
    mozzarella
    1
    store bought pizza dough
    1
    pound
    store bought salami, sliced
    Directions
    Spicy Sauce: Add Roma tomatoes into a blender. Add chili flakes and season with olive oil, salt and pepper. Pulse the blender a few times until evenly chopped (some chunkiness is good) and leave to the side.
    For the pizza gremolata, add cilantro, parsley and zest of 1 lemon, 1 lime and 1 orange into a food processor. Season with salt and pepper and pulse, adding a little olive oil to blend. Once blended, move to the side. Grate mozzarella to your liking and set to the side.
    Stretch the pizza dough out thin and round – using a rolling pin if necessary.
    Spread chunky tomato sauce all the way to the edge leaving room for a little crust. Use as much sauce as needed. Generously spread salami all over the pizza.
    Cook the pizza in the 5 Minute Pizza Oven & Snack Maker until golden brown and crispy (about 5 minutes).
    After pizza is cooked, garnish with the gremolata and serve.
