Southwestern Blend with Chili Powder and Cumin

This blend, full of cumin, garlic and chile, works great on chicken or thin white fish filets, like tilapia, but also is great sprinkled over fresh grilled corn.

    Ingredients
    1
    teaspoon
    cumin seeds
    1/2
    cup
    salt, kosher or sea salt
    2
    teaspoons
ground chile pepper, such as coban, ancho or chipotle
    1
    teaspoon
    oregano
    1
    teaspoon
garlic powder or minced dried garlic
    Directions
In a dry pan, toast cumin seeds over low heat for 5 minutes or until the start to pop.
In a mortar and pestle or food processor, pulse together all ingredients until combined (1 to 2 minutes for pestle, 30 seconds for processor).
