    Ortega Black Bean Cemitas with Cheese and Salsa

    Ortega Black Bean Cemitas with Cheese and Salsa are delicious and bursting with Mexican flavor thanks to green chiles, black beans, Monterrey Jack cheese, and a chunky salsa.


    Ingredients

    15 oz can Ortega Black Beans, drained

    1.25 oz envelope Ortega Taco Seasoning

    4 oz can Ortega Mild Green Chiles

    large soft buns

    shredded Monterrey Jack cheese
    *
    sliced fresh tomatoes
    *
    red onion, thinly sliced
    *
    avocado, sliced

    Ortega Salsa
    Directions
    In saucepan over medium heat, combine black beans, taco seasoning, and green chiles. Heat, stirring, until beans are bubbling and hot, approximately 5 minutes.
    To make cemitas, divide beans among the 6 bun bottoms.
    Top with generous handful of shredded cheese on top of hot beans. Add sliced tomato, onion, avocado, and spoonful of salsa.
    Close with top of bun and serve at once.
