    Ingredients
    1 1/2
    cups
diced fruit (mango, guava, raspberry, or strawberry)
    3/4
    cup
sugar (or less if the fruit is very sweet)
    *
    Juice of 1 lemon
    *
seltzer, water, and ice for serving
    Directions
Combine fruit, sugar, lemon juice, and 2 cups of water in a small saucepan over low heat, and let simmer for 30 minutes. Let cool, then puree in a blender until smooth, and return to saucepan over medium heat and let reduce by half into a thick syrup.
Pour through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solid fibers, and reserve remaining syrup. Chill until cool.
To make soda: Combine 1/4 cup syrup with 1 cup seltzer and serve over ice. Syrup keeps at least two weeks stored in refrigerator.
