Preheat oven to 350 F. Line baking sheet with baking mat and set aside.
In a sauce pan on medium heat combine cherries, agave, corn starch and orange liquor. Cook until bubbling, stirring constantly, then remove from heat and set aside.
Using additional flour as needed, roll out pie crust to 1/8 inch thick and cut out 3 inch rounds with a cookie cutter.
Combine and roll out scraps until you cannot make any more rounds.
Using a paring knife, cut out hearts on half the rounds.
To assemble, brush a whole round with a bit of the cherry liquid, add 1/2 tablespoon cherry filling to center of crust, top with a heart cutout round, and crimp edges with a fork.
Repeat assemble until all ingredients are used.
Transfer hand pies to baking sheet. Sprinkle with sugar and bake for 10-12 minutes, until golden and crisp.
