Lovers of rosé wine and the color pink, rejoice: PINKNIC, the first ever food, wine, and music festival dedicated to rosé wine, debuts next weekend on New York City’s Governor’s Island. Though ticket sales are ongoing, event organizers anticipate more than 16,000 attendees over the two-day festival.
Curated by the founders of La Nuit en Rosé, PINKNIC will feature food by star NYC Chef Chris Santos of Vandal, Beauty & Essex, and The Stanton Social fame; performances by celebrated local and international musicians including Miami Horror, Cedric Alexander C.M.A, and Claptone; and of course, “rosé all day.” Among the exclusive rosé offerings are Château d’Esclans, Chandon and Moët & Chandon.
The goal is to both highlight the versatility of rosé wine and offer New Yorkers an easy getaway to the city’s best-loved island oasis.
“We wanted to combine our love of food, music and, of course, wine to create the ultimate rosé experience,” said Pierrick Bouquet, co-founder of PINKNIC and founder of La Nuit en Rosé, adding that rosé “is a wine to be enjoyed with friends.”
Festival tickets range in price from $65 to $95 and include ferry tickets to and from Governor’s Island, performance admission and blanket seating on the island’s sprawling lawn, and access to the festival’s Rosé Wine Bars, ferris wheel, boutique, and ice cream and cotton candy shops.
Though guests can bring their own snacks, foodies are encouraged to purchase one of four picnic baskets designed by Santos, who in addition to being the man behind three of New York’s hottest restaurants, is also a resident judge on Food Network’s Chopped. The custom-created baskets are meant for two and include samplings of classics and creative spins on dishes served at Santos’ restaurants.
