It’s not too often that a dessert comes along that impresses award-winning novelist J.K. Rowling, but this sweet treat is different.
Yuengling Ice Cream has added Butterbeer ice cream to its flavor lineup which is sure to send HP fans soaring on their broomsticks in happiness. Each pint of the ice cream is made with half buttercream ice cream, half butterscotch, and with a twist of butterscotch swirl.
Fans of Rowling’s books know that butterbeer was a popular wizarding beverage for Harry and his friends. The drink, described as a “less sickly butterscotch”, may have had a slight alcoholic content, leaving the wizards in a “drunk-like state”. (Sorry, muggles – you’ll never know what this is like…)
This rendition, however, is alcohol-free, to ensure that wizards of any age can enjoy it. “My kids were big Harry Potter fans and we wanted to do something unique,” David Yuengling, president of the company said.
Super fans have taken it upon themselves to recreate butter beer recipes, but the real deal drink is also served at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios. Luckily, though, the flavor is here to stay. The pint can be found at many supermarket chains and retailers for $3.69 – $3.99, and was made a regular part of the company’s 20-flavor selection.
Hopefully, the delicious new flavor will give fans the ability to manifest a plate of tacos at their fingertips, too.
