Have you ever had a limber? Limbers are Puerto Rico's version of shaved iced and they're a childhood favorite of almost anyone who spent time on the island. Legend has it that when Charles Lindbergh flew to Puerto Rico on his 26th birthday, he was handed a frozen fruit juice upon arrival. He liked it so much that locals kept making it and named it limber in his honor. Now, you can find the frozen desserts in almost any household - they're usually either fruit juice or milk with very little adulteration, poured into plastic cups and frozen solid. To eat, just pop them up, turn them over in the cup (making almost a snow cone shape), and enjoy! Here's how to make a few of our favorite flavors.
