Doreen Colondres, TV personality and author behind uber-popular blog, The Kitchen Doesn’t Bite, is teaming up with Bumble Bee Foods to show Latinos how to live healthier (and more delicious) lives.
“I am thrilled to partner with Bumble Bee to help educate the growing Hispanic community about the benefits of eating seafood as part of a healthy lifestyle combining a well-balanced diet with exercise,” said Colondres. “With only two countries in Latin America without a coast line, seafood is a staple of Latin cuisine and Bumble Bee offers a full line of canned and pouched tuna, salmon, sardine, and specialty protein products that make seafood accessible and enjoyable year round.”
As part of her work with Bumble Bee, Colondres, the brand’s only bilingual ambassador, will educate Latinos on how to live healthier, more balanced lifestyles and will create new recipes that combine fresh ingredients, Latin flavors, and Bumble Bee products we all know and love.
“The inspiration for the new recipes I have created for Bumble Bee Foods all come from different personal experiences,” said Colondres. “For example, the empanadas are a classic in my family, the sopa seca is one of my favorite comfort food dishes from Mexico, the green Peruvian pasta was inspired by a friend’s daughter who enjoys every time I cook this recipe for her and the touch of the Bumble Bee® Prime Fillet® Albacore Tuna with Sundried Tomato & Olive Oil amazingly improved the recipe.”
Colondres will also be introducing consumers to Bumble Bee’s newest line of products, Prime Fillet® Gourmet Flavors, which combine albacore tuna with Latin flavors like chopped chipotles, sundried tomatoes, or jalapeños.
“I am a huge fan of Bumble Bee® Prime Fillet® products,” said Colondres. “The entire premium line is full amazing quality, flavorful ingredients that help anyone be extremely creative in the kitchen. I love introducing people to exceptional quality ingredients like Bumble Bee that allow people to get out of the routine in the kitchen and enjoy cooking simple, delicious recipes.”
And for Colondres, introducing more Latinos to Bumble Bee products is a labor of love.
“Bumble Bee is a brand that I grew up with in Puerto Rico, my country,” said Colondres. “It’s an innovative, creative company that celebrates freshness, works hard to promote a healthy lifestyle and is dedicated to connecting with the Latino community, which is very important to me.”
