Following the success of Tacuba Cantina Mexicana in Queens, chef and restaurateur Julian Medina now expands his empire with a second Tacuba outpost, this time in trendy Hell's Kitchen.
Though Tacuba has its older sister's laid-back ambiance, this new Hell's Kitchen location feels considerably warmer and more intimate, with its vintage fixtures, dim lights, and murals accentuating the 81-seat dining area. Its menu has also received a bit of a makeover, with its new quesadillas, tostadas, and ceviches that take center stage once the happy hour crowd approaches.
When Taco Tuesday rolls around, we strongly suggest you try out some of Chef Medina's new tacos, like the crispy chapulin omelette taco or the surtida, a mix of pork chops and pork belly marinated in chilis. And be sure to wash those down with the Campari-infused Dare Devil cocktail, a tangy homage to the comic book crusader that protects the streets of Hell's Kitchen.
Tacuba is open daily for dinner, but will begin lunch, brunch, and delivery service in coming weeks. For more information, click here.
