Good things come from surprising places: there’s a unicorn latte… that’s helping women entrepreneurs… and you can get it at Times Square. Will wonders never cease.

Before you roll your eyes at just another rainbow-colored thing (the bagels, the this, the that), check this out. The teen clothing store, American Eagle, has a shop within its flagship store in Times Square, called DRINK. The nonalcoholic beverage counter sells coffees and lemonades and this marshmallow, sprinkle laden, rainbow colored Lisa Frank dream of a bev called the Pegasus.

DRINK is run by Zoe Feldman, a former Pepsi strategist, and she decided to make DRINK a little different: it uses products from 22 small businesses across the country and 40 percent of those businesses are run by women.

“Because I was the one curating everything, I could be selective; we’ve been able to give them a chance to shine on the biggest stage in the world, Times Square,” Feldman told Delish. Adding, “I can give you food coloring and sprinkles and you can make a unicorn beverage, but it’s that notion of supporting small businesses that’s really critical.”

Well, way to go homegirl, use that power for good! This might be the first unicorn, pastel-y pink food product we actually buy. What we love here is that Feldman is doing her job and doing it well (as you can note from the ever growing number of Insta shots of the drink). But most importantly, Feldman is doing her job thoughtfully.

She needed sprinkles, she needed marshmallows, and she needs small batch artisan cold brews and homemade sodas and a dozen other products. And instead of using the big boys (it’s a male dominated industry), Feldman did the research and found products that first of all, taste great, but also fall in line with her bigger goal.

“I know there’s a lot of press around this because of the unicorn thing,” Feldman said, “but the story behind the small businesses is extraordinary, and I’m really hoping that’s what people gravitate to.”

Yaaaas qweeen. We’ll pour a little bit of our Pegasus out for that.
