Famed restaurateur, Danny Meyer, has envisioned a new coffee enterprise that caffeine addicts will love. Meyer has teamed up with his long time friend and colleague Jonathan Rubinstein, president and founder of Joe Coffee, a group of New York’s based cafeterías.
According to Eater, Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group has invested a substantial amount of money on the expansion of the small coffee chain, providing a huge opportunity for the already popular business in New York and Philadelphia. Meyer, who has demonstrated his entrepreneurial prowess on chains such as Shake Shack and Sweetgreen, is offering a significant expansion to this third-wave coffee establishment.

Joe Coffee is known for its high standards in the brewing business as well as its traceable back-to-the farm philosophy. This family-owned company is also known for roasting their locally-sourced grains in their own operations building in Red hook, Brooklyn. All these priorities match Meyer’s beliefs and values, making this fusion a promising breakthrough in the competitive coffee market.
The recent investment will be a great addition to Meyer’s Group and Rubinstein is already planning a fresh update, including new locations and technology. Hopefully, the expansion won’t affect the high quality of the locally-made café they are known for.
