This black bean and rice stuffed pork roast is “home-style, rustic, and soul-satisfying,” said chef Alex Garcia. “It reminds me of my childhood.”

Chef Alex Garcia is known as one of the creators of the Nuevo Latino cooking movement, and has cooked at Calle Ocho, Babalu, and Copacabana. He recently opened A.G. Kitchen on New York’s Upper West Side and Amigos in New York’s Morningside Heights.
