The jerseys are on, the battle lines are drawn, and the teams have settled on your couch. Everyone’s ready to win or die trying. But when the whistle blows, will you be ready to feed them? This year, don’t let Super Bowl party planning beat you down. Instead, whip up some of these tried and true Latin recipes.

First up, the sandwich category. Try a Smoked Cuban Sandwich. This tangy combo of smoked ham and pork with sweet provolone cheese and salty pickles will work best as on a three-foot loaf from the bakery.

If you’re looking to update a standby, try Chile Relleno Burgers, portioned as either full-sized burgers or sliders. Earthy and spicy, the moist burgers are held together with a generous, gooey layer of cheese. Turn up the heat with extra chiles (if you think you can stand it) or play it down for a milder flavor profile.

Another sturdy sandwich option is the Mexican torta: Chorizo and Potato. Smoky chorizo is piled on to crusty bread and topped with cool slices of avocado, studs of spicy jalepeño, and chunks of salty queso fresco. Que rico!

Next up, everyone’s favorite Latin finger food — tacos! Our BBQ Pulled Pork Tacos are a great way to feed a crowd on the cheap. Made with an economical cut of meat (pork shoulder) and served on corn tortillas, they are also easy to customize. Set out the toppings and let guests help themselves.

Or try Smoky Habanero Chili, a wholesome one-pot creation. While this simmers on the stove (getting better every minute), you can simmer on the couch, with a cold one in hand.

Finally, how can you make a burrito better? Deep fry it and turn it into these Chicken Chimichangas. Tortillas are stuffed with shredded chicken, topped with fresh salsa, and generously sprinkled with cheese and sour cream for the ultimate Mexican dish.

Make one, make them all and score big at your Super Bowl party. Next, game winning recipes… [pagebreak]
