We all crave a delicious sweet treat every now and then. And with spring in full bloom and summer on the horizon, it’s the cold, sweet stuff that really gets us going. What isn’t delicious is all the added sugar and chemicals in our favorite commercially packaged frozen desserts. Most of our favorites can be easily made at home, and doing ensures the ingredients are wholesome, fresh, and exactly to your liking. Instead of adding sugar for sweetness, use ingredients that are naturally sweet. Sorbets are a perfect example of naturally sweet dessert that doesn’t depend on extra sugar for flavor. Plus, they’re light, flavorful, and easy to make. A win for dessert and for you!
Our White Wine Passion Fruit Sorbet has just two ingredients: white wine and passion fruit juice. Passion fruit is naturally sweet and tangy, which lends itself nicely to the delicate, fruity notes in white wine.
Tequila Berry, as you may have guessed, is a combination of smooth tequila and berries. Any berry will do the trick, but for depth of flavor a mix of blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries result in a scrumptiously sweet sorbet.
Mango Rum is sweetened with ripe mango, which brings out the rich caramelized flavor of rum, combining two flavors that amount to a delicious tropical treat, scoop for scoop.
Don’t let fillers, extra sugar, chemicals and future unwanted pounds get between you and your dessert. You can have your sweets and eat them too by making them at home, ensuring that they are as delicious and wholesome as the ingredients that make them.
