Man, what a weekend! TLK spent the past weekend in the glorious Colorado Rockies, running around picturesque Aspen, eating and drinking our faces off at the Food & Wine Classic! Make no mistake; this is the creme de la creme of food festivals, and we loved every sweet, savory, and wine-drenched moment of it!
We hit the ground running at Peru's event at Jimmy's, which showcased the elevated cuisine of Los Angeles based Peruvian culinary god Ricardo Zarate, and then continued on to taste Riojas and Malbecs, visit with Food Network Star's Susie Jimenez, chat with global restaurateur Richard Sandoval -- who recently opened a branch of his NYC staple Maya in nearby Beaver Creek -- ogle the tireless Spaniard Jose Andres as he played with oysters, devour Mexico's offering of cochinita pibil, Baja wines, and mezcal in the tents, and of course, hobknob with an all-star cast of high-wattage chefs from legends like Daniel Boulud and Eric Ripert to Best New Chefs Jose Enrique and Alex Stupak and all around faves like Susan Feniger and Rick Bayless.
Missed the festivities? No problem. Check out our whirlwind weekend footage. We're warning you -- you're about to get very hungry (and very jealous). And though we're absolutely exhausted, we absolutely can't wait until next year...
Viva la Classic!
