We’re in the full swing of the holidays! Thanksgiving dinner is under our belt and Noche Buena and Christmas morning are in our sights. The tree is up, the lights are twinkling, the garland is strewn, and we’re headed back into the kitchen to cook up dish after dish of delicious classics. To keep us inspired, we’re putting a TLK twist on the classic song 12 Days of Christmas. You know the one with 12 drummers drumming, 11 pipers piping...all the way down to the partridge in the pear tree!
We’ve already covered 12 Tasty Tacos, shared our 11 Favorite Flans, and made 10 Types of Tamales! Today we’re feeling festive with 9 Christmas Cocktails! Raid the bar and dust off your glitter cocktail classes, it’s time to sing (and cook!) along!
This classic Mexican drink closely resembles American eggnog, with the addition of canela and ground almonds. Wildly popular during the Christmas season, a traditional rompopo is made strong and served in small amounts as a liqueur; the recipe here is for such serving. For regular potency (and 12 servings), reduce rum by one cup. Mix up a few pitchers and pour them into decorative bottles as gifts (and keep one in the fridge for when guests stop by!).
This festive cranberry cocktail is spiked with Flor de Caña Rum and topped with tropical flavors of orange and lime. The deep red color and the use of cranberries make it especially beautiful as a big bowl of punch and the centerpiece to your holiday cocktail bar. Cheers to you!
A Partida Añejo Tequila cocktail with shots of Amaretto and coconut rum and finished off with a sweet shot of butterscotch, this cocktail is meant to remind you of all those holiday cookie swaps. This year, skip the cookie and celebrate with an adults only treat.
Celebrate the holidays with this fusion drink: this cocktail started in the French region of Bordeaux, was exported to England where it gained the addition of fruit and spice, and landed in Latin America where it became a fruit-enhanced cocktail enjoyed during the holidays!
We've found a new use for all those candy canes. Crush them and use them to rim a martini glass! Then fill that glass with Partida Blanco Tequila, Peppermint Schnapps, Godiva liqueur, and a finishing touch of rich cream. Maybe we'll leave one of these for Santa this year.
