Sure, you’ve said time and time again that you would make your own tortillas, but never have! It’s time to buckle down and make your abuela proud. Besides, it’ll all be over in 5 easy steps, the last being to eat them. It can’t get any simpler than that!
Create the dough!
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup water
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Grab a large bowl and combine the flour and salt, then stir in oil and water.
Once thoroughly mixed, place dough on floured surface and knead 10-12 times. Add water and flour as needed until dough is smooth. Then allow to rest for 10 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 equally(ish) sized balls.
Roll out dough balls into 7-inch(also ish) circles. Essentially as thin as your liking.
In a large, lightly oiled skillet, cook tortillas over medium heat for 1-minute per side or until slightly browned.
