The definition of comfort food changes from culture to culture, but in our home, arroz con leche is a classic family treat. This version is slightly more aromatic than the standard version of arroz con leche, with a fresh fragrant vanilla bean simmered along with cinnamon. And even though many of us associate this dessert with our childhood, arroz con leche can certainly shine in grown up settings – serve it warm, topped with ripe berries, butter toasted salted pecans, or drizzled with a few drops of coffee liqueur.
