Wasabi Guacamole Recipe

 

A fusion of Mexican and Asian ingredients, this wasabi guacamole from NYC restaurant China Latina packs a big kick. 

Julieta Ballesteros is the owner of CremaLos Feliz and most recently, China Latina, a fusion of Latin American and Asian flavors and ingredients.

 


Ingredients

Hass avocados, pitted

garlic, minced

spanish onion, chopped

red onion

cilantro, chopped

wasabi paste

tablespoon
sesame oil

lime, juiced
1 to 1 1/2
pickled jalapeno

cup
vinegar from can of pickled jalapeño (La Morena suggested)

salt, to taste
Directions
Combine ingredients in a bowl and mash them with a whisk or potato masher to get a chunky texture.
If preparing in advance, cover in parchment paper and plastic to keep fresh for up to two hours.
Garnish with pico de gallo and chips or tortillas. Serve.
