Straight to Hell

The People’s Last Stand in Dallas, Texas is a craft-cocktail bar with the motto: “stand for something or you’ll fall for anything.” And that motto extends to their drinks. Only premium ingredients are used in everything they prepare. Their signature drink is the Straight to Hell and it calls for muddled jalapeño and basil for maximum flavor without added sugar and calories.

Mezcal

ounce
ginger simple syrup
1/2
ounce
apricot liqueur
1/2
ounce
fresh lime juice
Directions
Muddle one slice of jalapeño and five basil leaves together in a cocktail shaker tin.
Add the mescal, ginger syrup, apricot liqueur and lime juice.
Shake and double strain into a short glass. Garnish with a basil leaf and the second slice of jalapeño.
