    Spicy Cheese and Onion Tart

    Revolutionize breakfast with a creamy and rich Spicy Cheese and Onion Tart that uses your left over veggies, jack cheese, jalapeño and heavy cream to make an elegant and tasty savory pie.


    Ingredients

    deep dish crust, store bought and defrosted

    thinly sliced onion, caramelized

    cup
    thinly sliced peppers, sauteed

    jalapeños, minced
    1/2
    poblano, roasted and chopped

    eggs, whisked
    1/2
    pint heavy cream
    1
    teaspoon
    salt
    1
    teaspoon
    ground white pepper
    1 1/2
    cups
    shredded pepper jack cheese
    Directions
    Preheat oven to 375 F. Place a sheet of parchment over crust, cover with pie weights and transfer to oven.
    Bake for 15 minutes, until cooked through and gaining color.
    Remove crust from oven and set aside.
    In a small bowl combine onion, peppers, jalapeño and poblano. Sprinkle 1/3 of vegetable mixture on bottom of crust.
    In another small bowl combine eggs, heavy cream, salt and pepper. Whisk until thoroughly combined. Add cheese and stir until evenly distributed.
    Pour 1/2 of egg mixture into pie crust, top with another 1/3 of veggies, then repeat until crust is filled.
    Gently smooth filling with the back of a spoon, then transfer to oven.
    Bake tart for 30-40 minutes, or until crust is golden on the edges and tart filling is cooked through.
