    Savory Turkey Torta with Spicy Avocado Salsa

    February isn't just about Valentines! February is also National Heart Month. Take this time to really consider the changes you can make today to keep your ticker ticking away... like eating more avocados, for example.


    Ingredients

    avocados (sliced and peeled)

    canned salsa verde

    hot pepper sauce

    oven roasted chicken breast (sliced)

    cup
    pickled red onions

    leaves
    lettuce

    slices
    tomato

    tablespoons
    cotija cheese (crumbled)

    telera (Mexican-style soft sandwich rolls)
    Directions
    Mash one avocado and combine with salsa and hot pepper sauce. Spread over the bottom halves of rolls.
    Layer turkey, onions, lettuce, tomatoes and cheese on bottom halves of rolls. Top with remaining avocado.
    Replace the bread top and press down firmly to compress ingredients.
    Wrap tightly and refrigerate until ready to serve. Cut just before serving.
