    Savory Oatmeal with a Fried Egg and Pine Nuts

    Who said oatmeal has to be sweet? Top your morning oats with a salty runny fried egg and aromatic pine nuts for a new take on a breakfast classic.

    garlic powder

    butter

    egg

    ounces
    pine nuts
    2
    ounces
    Chopped Cilantro
    Directions
    In a sauce pan over medium heat add in the oats, water, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Stir to combine; cook oats to desired doneness about 5 minutes until the oats are tender and the liquid has absorbed.
    While the oats are cooking, make the fried egg. Add the butter to a small sauté pan over medium low heat. Crack the egg into the sauté pan and cook for about 3 minutes until the whites are set and the yolk is still runny. Season the egg with salt and pepper.
    To assemble, add cooked oats into a bowl, top with the fried egg, pine nuts, and cilantro.
