Latino Mint Julep

A classic mint julep made in the style of a mojito.

 

 

 

Anthony Lamas is chef and owner of Seviche, in Louisville, Kentucky. He has also cooked at the James Beard House five times, was honored as a semifinalist for the James Beard Best Chef: Southeast Award in 2010 and 2011, and won the title of Food Network’s Extreme Chef.

lime

leaves of mint

tablespoon
sugar
1/2
ounce
soda
3
ounces
bourbon

sugar cane to garnish
Directions
Add mint and sugar to a cocktail shaker then squeeze the juice from the lime into the glass. Put the lime half into glass and muddle together. Add bourbon and top with ice. Shake vigorously. Pour mixture into a pint glass, top with soda water then garnish with sugar cane.
