    June & Henry Cocktail

    Created by mixologist David Gonsalves, of Chicago’s The Violet Hour, the June & Henry gets its Latin spice from the addition of Ancho Reyes Chili Liqueur. Winner of the James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program in 2015, The Violet Hour’s cocktail menu features 22 seasonal libations that highlight the well-chosen ingredients. This cocktail is both hot and cold, with refreshing cucumber and spicy chili liqueur.

    cucumber slices

    ounce
    La Favorite Blanc Rhum
    1
    ounce
    Ancho Reyes Chili Liqueur
    1 1/2
    tablespoons
    Lime Juice
    1 1/2
    tablespoons
    simple syrup
    1
    mint sprig

    sea salt
    Directions
    In a cocktail shaker, muddle 1 cucumber slice. Add crushed ice, Rhum, Ancho Reyes, lime juice and simple syrup. Shake briefly and strain into rocks glass. Garnish with mint sprig, second cucumber slice, and sea salt.
