    Honey Glazed Grilled Turkey Legs

    This year, give the oven a break and fire up the grill with grilled turkey legs basted in a honey glaze.

     

     

    Thomas Kelly, an alum of Craft and Hearth in New York City, is chef and owner of Mexicue, a fusion of Southern American BBQ and Mexican. Mexicue operates a food truck, two restaurants and a traditional catering company in New York City.


    Ingredients

    teaspoon
    sea salt
    1
    teaspoon
    black pepper
    1
    tablespoon
    garlic powder
    1
    tablespoon
    granulated onion
    1/2
    tablespoon
    smoked paprika
    1/2
    tablespoon
    chipotle chile powder
    4
    turkey legs
    3
    tablespoons
    honey
    Directions
    Combine salt, pepper, garlic powder, granulated onion, paprika and chili powder. Mix well.
    Clean turkey legs, then dry and rub with spice mixture. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for a few hours or overnight.
    Preheat grill for indirect heat.
    Place turkey legs on grill over medium high heat and brown the skin.
    Move to low heat, brush with honey and finish cooking until legs are crispy and golden brown. Serve.
