    Creamy Tomato Soup

    Beautiful rich tomato paste is blended with a thick and creamy milk and warmed through to make the perfect beginning to any meal. (No wonder it's one of our most pinned recipes ever on Pinterest!)

He stared in the eighth season of the Food Network's Food Network Star, co-owns the food studio iFood Studios, and currently works with the Lavo Restaurant Group and the Surf Lodge in the Hamptons. Lemoine recently released his first cookbook, Comidas USA.

    tomato puree

    chicken broth (or vegetable)

    tomato paste
    2
    teaspoons
    sugar
    1/4
    teaspoon
    onion powder
    1
    cup
    plus 2 tablespoons whole milk
    2
    tablespoons
    corn starch
    4
    tablespoons
    butter

    Salt and pepper, to taste
    Directions
    Combine the tomato puree, chicken broth, tomato paste, sugar and onion powder in a saucepan over medium heat.
    Meanwhile combine 1 cup milk with starch and stir well.
    When the soup has boiled, add the starch with milk and raise the flame to high. Cook beating with a whisk for 3 minutes.
    Turn off the flame and add the remaining milk, followed by butter.
    Blend well with a hand blender until the butter has melted and you have a super-creamy and delicious soup. Adjust with salt and pepper. Serve.
