    Cinnamon Fig Manhattan

    Get a taste of the season with this cinnamon, fig, and vermouth cocktail. The vermouth is steeped with whole cinnamon sticks and a pint of figs to create a smoky, warming flavor. Combined with whisky and sprinkle of cayenne, this cocktail will warm you up from the inside out.


    Ingredients
    For the Cinnamon Fig Vermouth

    750-ml bottle sweet vermouth

    fresh figs

    cinnamon sticks
    For the Manhattan
    1 1/2
    ounces
    Bulleit Rye Whiskey
    1/2
    ounce
    Cinnamon Fig Vermouth
    2
    to 3 dashes Angostura bitters

    dash
    cayenne pepper

    Brandied cherries, for garnish
    Directions
    To make the cinnamon fig vermouth pour the sweet vermouth over the cinnamon sticks and figs. Refrigerate for 2 to 3 days.
    To make the cocktail, mix all ingredients and serve in a martini glass. Garnish with brandied cherries.
