    Cinnamon Cherry Agua Fresca

    This cherry-pie-inspired drink is the best way to enjoy the flavors of summer without all the calories. 


    Ingredients

    water
    1/2
    cup
    sugar
    2
    sticks
    cinnamon
    2
    cloves
    2
    cups
    red cherries, pitted
    1
    cup
    white cherries, pitted and halved
    Directions
    Place the sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan over high heat. Boil until the sugar has dissolved and the liquid has reduced by half.
    Turn off the heat and infuse the simple syrup with the cinnamon sticks and cloves. Let sit and cool for 15 min.
    Pour the red cherries into a large pitcher and crush with a fork or potato masher. Add 6 cups of water, white cherries, and half a cup of the cinnamon syrup.
    Mix to combine and taste for sweetness. Serve chilled.
