    Chocolate y Platano

It doesn't get much better than caramelized plantains drizzled with rich hot chocolate! This delicious recipe comes from Arcelia Gallardo of Casa de Chocolates.

    Ingredients
    1
    large ripe plantain
    3
    tablespoons
    butter
    2
    tablespoons
    brown sugar
    1/2
    cup
    heavy cream
    1/2
    cup
dark chocolate chips or bar broken into pieces
    Directions
Set oven to 350F. Wrap plantain in foil and place in oven 15-20 minutes or until tender.
While plantain is baking, boil cream. Remove from heat and mix in chocolate until it melts. Set aside.
Remove plantain from oven and allow to cool until you can remove foil and peel plantain. Cut plantain in half crosswise, then again in half lengthwise so that you end up with four pieces measuring about 3-5” each.
In a saucepan, heat butter and brown sugar. Once butter is melted, toss in plantains and sautee until golden crispy brown.
Plate the plantains and drizzle with chocolate sauce.
