    Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal with Walnuts

    This oatmeal dish is apple pie in oatmeal form. Creamy oatmeal is spiked with those familiar flavors and aroma: warm cinnamon and vanilla, brown sugar, honey, plump and tender diced apple, and crunchy walnuts.

    milk or water

    tablespoon
    honey

    ounces
    chopped walnuts
    Directions
    In a sauté pan over medium high heat add in butter. Once the butter has melted add diced apple, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and brown sugar. Mix to combine; let the apples cook for 5 minutes until the apples are tender and syrupy.
    While the apples are cooking, make the oatmeal. In a sauce pan over medium heat; add oats, milk, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and honey. Cook the oatmeal to your desired doneness—about 5 minutes until the oats are tender and the liquid has absorbed.
    For serving, add oatmeal into a bowl. Top with apples and chopped walnuts.
