Agua de Sandia (Watermelon Agua Fresca)

Using sweet watermelon pieces in this skinny variety of agua fresca makes sugar an optional add-in, so it’s low-calorie and delicious.

Ingredients

water
1 1/2
pounds
watermelon (rind removed) seeded and chopped into a 1-inch cubes

tablespoons
sugar, optional

juice of 1/2 lime

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Directions
Put watermelon, water, sugar and lime into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour mixture through a strainer into a pitcher.
Chill for 30 minutes and serve with a lot of ice.
Garnish each glass with a leaf of basil when serving.
