The air is crisp, the leaves are falling, and we're welcoming in Fall and a whole new season of eats, drinks, books, and more. Here's what we're excited about this month.
I love this four-day event for a lot of reasons, but the two biggest are: 1) 100% of its net proceeds benefit the No Kid Hungry® campaign and Food Bank For New York City, and 2) it’s the most fun you’ll have with food ever. More than 500 chefs, entertainers, and wine and spirits producers participating in 100-plus events in New York’s coolest venues… What’s not to love? Anyone who loves to eat should experience this at least once.
Amanda's Pick: Central
This beautifully illustrated chef monograph and cookbook from renowned Peruvian chef Virgilio Martinez is truly one of the most stunning books I’ve ever read. And I do mean “read.” Unlike the traditional cookbooks we reach for when we need a fast recipe to feed our family, this book is more like a journey through Peru’s altitudes – from below sea level in the Pacific Ocean to the peaks of the Andes – with the country’s biodiversity on display throughout. Dishes from Martinez’s tasting menu at Central, which is currently ranked #4 on the World’s 50 Best list and #1 in Latin America, are sprinkled throughout. The text captivates and The photos transport. Its’ a loving tribute to a beloved country, and would make an ideal host gift or Christmas present for anyone interested in Peruvian cuisine and culture.
Cristina's Pick: Sugarfina Bento Box
Nichole's Pick: Guac Sweatshirt
We can all talk about how much we love food, but to wear it on your sleeve? That’s new levels. I’m obsessing over this fun guac sweatshirt – because who doesn’t trust a plate of guac-filled goodness?
