Meatlovers gather ‘round: Miami is welcoming a new Brazilian fusion steakhouse, Braileiro, opening July 12 at the Four Ambassadors Hotel.
In the kitchen cooking up those sizzling steaks and fresh-from-the-ocean seafood is Guily Booth, formerly of YUCA and Cafeina. Booth has created a tapas-style menu of small plates and Brazilian staples as well as prime cuts of meat.
For the traditional Brazilian steakhouse experience commit to the all-you-can-eat riodizio for $39 per person and chose from picanha, churrasco, Brazilian sausages, leg of lamb and bacon wrapped chicken and a-la-carte side dishes liks white rice, black beans, French fries, fried banana, farofa, salad, and fried yuca.
If you’re in the mood to share, order a la carte and try: crab cakes (described by Martha Stewart as the “best she’s ever had”) served with arugula, tomato and Booth’s secret sauce; crispy calamari steak with pepperoni sauce and orange jam; and lamb sliders served on soft yeast rolls with Indian tomato confit, feta cheese and broccoli sprouts.
For heartier fare, try: the classic Brazilian dish, moqueca bahia, made with zucchini, yellow squash, chayote, tomato, cilantro, dende oil, shrimp and coconut milk; blackened cobia served with shrimp, potato and chorizo home fries with a Key Lime buerre blanc; and black seafood risotto with calamari, shrimp, piquillo peppers and sweet peas.
Get there early and snag a space on the outdoor patio and enjoy an ocean breeze or snuggle up to the bar till your table is ready and sip on cocktails. Brasileiro is open for lunch, happy hour, and dinner. And with a menu this good, you might want to stay all day.
