The restaurant, run by the team that opened Colonie, offers an authentic Mexican menu inspired by the crews’ travels abroad, particularly focusing on street fare. To complement the food, the bar service does its best to incorporate traditional Mexican flavors with seasonal ingredients, with local and Mexican beer, both on top and by the bottle, available alongside an American, Spanish, and Portuguese wine list.
As you take in the art (inspired by Mexican artist Jose Guadalupe Posado) and the view (hello Brooklyn Bridge!), snack on: hand-pressed heirloom corn tortillas stuffed with lengua, cilantro, onion and radish; a scallop, jalapeño, spicy herb salsa, and cucumber aguachile; a seared duck breast served with a duck leg tamale and a jicama, blood orange, cilantro, and almond salsa; and delicious classic guacamole.
Wash it all done with margaritas, cocktails, or old standbys like Horchata, Jamaica and Pepino y Hierbabuena, and pineapple, cucumber, mint and lime fresh-pressed juice blends.
We can’t wait to cross the river and sit down to dinner.
