As we all know, in recent years Taco Bell has upped its game, setting it’s sight on becoming America’s favorite fast-food chain. First there was the Doritos Locos in all its wonderful permutations (Fiery and Cool Ranch), then came Taco Bell’s Happier Hour deals. Now, at long last, Taco Bell has introduced its Breakfast Menu to locations nationwide. In an effort to promote their new Waffle Taco, Taco Bell has released a series of commercials that poke fun at Mickey D’s, the most recent of which calls McDonald’s breakfast options as dated as the keytar.

Taco Bell fired the first shots in this breakfast battle when they aired ads that grouped together men named Ronald McDonald and had them profess their love for Taco Bell’s breakfast options, a joke Mickey D responded to via Facebook with a dignified: “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”.

Taco Bell’s latest and sharpest jab is called “Get with the Times“, a fun little ditty set to the tune of “Old MCDonald Had a Farm” that criticizes the fast food empire for not updating their breakfast menu. This new ad follows the life of a man that has been stuck in his ways ever since the 80’s, eating Egg McMuffins and rocking a very unfortunate mullet. Upon trying the new Breakfast Taco, the man decides to “get with the times” and “move on” from his McDonald’s A.M. routine and other dated ways.

No word yet on whether McDonald’s plans to retaliate to Taco Bell’s taunts, but we’ll keep you posted.
