Though Marcela Valladolid already has two succesful gigs, as host of Food Network’s Mexican Made Easy and as a judge on CBS’ The American Baking Competition, there’s one job that’s even more important, being a mom to son Fausto.

And if you think being the son of a celebrity chef means gourmet dinners and treats every night, think again. Though Valladolid does admit to allowing Fausto chow down with his friends, she runs a strict household, where Faustro tries everything on the table, with no kiddie dinner in sight. Though the rules (and the travel that come superstar chef life) may be hard on them both, Valladolid admits to big payoffs, like meeting the First Family and walking through the White House with Fausto.

Here, Valladolid shares what’s on her table and what it means to cook for her son.
